Hope I haven't laid it on too thick!

A bit of old England for me before the distaff takes over the living room and we have TV for the rest of the evening

Dave Brubeck Quartet - Take Five. This is really chilling me out after a shit day. It was either this or a bit of The Exploited (Barmy Army). LOL!!

Indeed they are. Isn't it strange we two can agree on so much music and differ on almost as much?

Just purchased, and now listening to, the Happy Birthday You EP by Jay Jay Pistolet ... saw him supporting Laura Marling ...

Don't worry, Huw, you have SO much credit for recommending good music to us, that this - uhm - mislead doesn't destroy anything.

Big Grin

cheers

On ECM - Arild Andersen Live at Belleville

I must try harder so here goes. This is getting rave reviews but I could not get into it. I have tickets to see the band tomorrow night and need to decide whether to get out of the armchair and make the trip to London or watch X-Factor with the kids Eek .

...Blissful memories .....why aren't they better remembered? - a fine old band

listened to a few clips and, in spite of the reviews, will not be on my wish list. Some of the ECM New Series, however, will be - have at last succumbed to Stefan's recommending of the Schumann. Should be a package from jpc to open tomorrow.

Next up, Bollani - Gleda

Is it any good?

Hi Stuart,

Yes, it's very good, IMHO. Not a great deal new if you've got the 2 studio albums and the other live album but I love to listen to them nonetheless. We saw them live in L.A. last year - hoping for somewhere a bit closer to home next time!

Mark

Now watching the DVD - makes me realise why I love this band and am so glad I saw them live. Stunning. It is just fabulous.
