Oliver welcome back to the forum. hope you enjoyed your little break. Does your Dad like your system and is he going to join the forum - MilesSmiles Sr?

This album is good but if I were going to buy my first Anthony Phillips album I would go for his classic Geese and the Ghost - a very early Genesis feel to it and even a couple of members of the band appear on it.

Hi Ewen,

Yes, I think so too - any recommendations of some good raw electric blues in this vein that might have slipped by me - I've got quite a bit of Buddy Guy/Albert King and associated recordings but there must be some more minor league or newer artists I'm not familiar with - any pointers would be very much appreciated!

One of MilesSmiles favourite albums. We used it to test out systems with the track Way Down Deep - great for bass - can floor a system.

Have listened to disc 1 (Kyoto) and disc 6 (encores) twice, and like what I hear. Maybe the "unevenness" I've read about occurs on the other four discs?

Deeper into Sun Bear territory for me with discs 2 (Osaka) and 3 (Nagoya). Pure enjoyment so far.

Want to buy the new Bobo Stenson you recommended, but must put it off until next month as I've spent a fortune in October already.

Nigel - I played Nagoya after you last posted Sun Bear here and thought it was excellent. I just love the simplicity of the music and the packaging. Perfect ECM. Think I'll spin another one later.
