Exellent album, definitely one of my faves at the mo'.

I still can't work out why they put 14 songs on it though Confused (Though the extra 2 are both good Smile ).

Sorry, I've never heard about this album.

Is it a bootleg?

I've heard about 12 songs by Neil Diamond and 12 songs by Randy Newman...

Now that's a good album - Let's Burn Down The Cornfield.

Long time since I played this album.

People seem to forget Randy Newman. And that's a shame!

'Create Me' is my favourite track on the Neil Diamond album.

If there is a '12 Songs' by Randy Newman, I will have to get that, too.

Apologies for thread hi-jack!

Jon, Amazon have it for about 7.99 or cheaper. Tracks:

1. Have You Seen My Baby
2. Let's Burn Down The Cornfield
3. Mama Told Me Not To Come
4. Suzanne
5. Lover's Prayer
6. Lucinda
7. Underneath The Harlem Moon
8. Yellow Man
9. Old Kentucky Home
10. Rosemary
11. If You Need Oil
12. Uncle Bob's Midnight Blues

I think it was his second album and had Ry Cooder playing on it. Pretty damn good album.

End of thread hijack.

Released in 1970.

Among others; Ry Cooder on bottleneck, Clarence White on guitar, Gene Parsons and Jim Gordon on drums.

Other good albums are: Sail Away and Little Criminals.

End of another thread hijack...

Rick Rubin, by all accounts, coaxed some mighty impressive performances out of Johnny Cash in the singer's final years. However, in the case of Neil Diamond, is it really possible to polish a turd?

His 'Hot August Night' live album stands as one of the greatest rock/pop live albums ever recorded in my opinion, and is right up there with 'Made In Japan' by Deep Purple and 'Live At Leeds' by The Who. His songwriting has been prolific throughout his 40 odd year career so it wouldn't be entirely surprising if he wrote one or two duffers during that time, although he has written quite a number of bonafide classics.

My perception of Neil Diamond has been irretrievably altered, however, after watching the Will Ferrell / Saturday Night Live VH1 Storytellers sketch of him (google 'Neil Diamond Will Ferrell' and you'll find it).

"This next song I wrote after I killed a drifter to get an erection" goes down as one of my favourite comedy lines ever.
