Lori Carson

Lori Carson does some vocals, well speaks some texts on a brilliant ambient album by Bill Laswell called City of Light. I know that she is a singer/songwriter but I've never heard her own stuff. I've always got the feeling she might be one of those dreary Joni Mitchell types? Does anyone know what her own stuff is like? I haven't taken a gamble on her stuff because I suspect likeing her stuff on a Bill Laswell album might be like liking Dido on an Eminem track.
