Having forgotten to top up my PAYG Orange mobile. I thought I would register online and do it that way. Clicking on register I was given a number to call if I had forgotten my 4 digit pin(security ID) numner. Dialled said number and was told (at 50 ppm) that ALL calls were being dealt with on another number. This I dialled and was asked to enter my mobile number, then asked to enter MY 4 DIGIT PIN number. Doh! No option of by passing this.
My E-Mail that I sent soon after will probably be ignored too I suspect.

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?

Bit like trying to contact Vodafone by email. Other than automated repsonses no actual answer. What really annoyed me at the time was not being able to get through to customer services on the phone (long, long queue) whilst calling from abroad. Grrr.

I had a terrible time getting out of an O2 contract a few months ago. Seems like once they have got you they just don't care.

All I would say is be very careful getting into a contract. Not only did O2 manage to NOT finalise the contract as arranged but then continued billing for a number no longer in use, and then double billed me due to serial failures to know what they were doing in one departement and another. Thick or sharp or what? I would say of O2, just avoid like the plague. It took two months of queing in waiting mode on the phone for the thing to eventually be settled, though I guess those profits went to BT!

Sounds awfully familiar to the time I phoned my banks 24hr phone service, discovered it wasn't 24hr, and was forwarded to another line which said I should phone the number I was just forwarded from...

Duh!

My lad started at Leeds University on Sunday. In mid August as soon as the A level results came out we 'thought' we opened a NatWest student account for him. Loads of problems with it culminating in me writing to the MD to complain last week. Profuse apologies etc followed. This morning a letter came telling him that UCAS can't confirm he's a student, so he has to go through the process again. I've asked NatWest if I should let UCAS know that he doesn't exist or will they?!
They are utter pillocks, and reading the press are apparently notorious for it.
