While in Saudi, a friend was done for speeding because it 'sounded like he was speeding'. Managed to get it overturned by taking along some Saudi airforce friends with harder hitting family names.... not Windsor.

I've just gotten back from a week of driving around France and I have to comment on what a pleasure it was. Being able to cruise legally at 130km/h on lightly trafficed roads along with drivers who respect others, only move left when overtaking and then move back as quickly as possible so as not to hold anyone up made it a real joy to get around. Contrast that to my arrival back in dover where it seems everyone was sitting in the right lane despite large gaps in the left...
Then there's the French treatment of cyclists - drivers patiently waiting for a good space to overtake and leaving lots of space when they do so, nobody cutting you up, giving way to you etc.
You have wonder how 2 countries so close together can be so completely different.
