I have had this albumn for quite a while but for some reason have only recently started to listen to it regularly. I think it is the best thing they have done - discuss.

Speaking of Steely Dan, does anyone know who played the Guitar on Glamour Profesion from the Gaucho album. It sounds like Jim Mullen from from Morrisey Mullen to me. It's been bugging me since i first played it.

Geoff -
I like your "location." Maybe I'll change mine to "close to the edge."
Oh and one more piece of trivia: On the song, "Aja," Steve Gadd actually used very small tom-toms (8", 10" & 12") that were tuned very low.
Can you tell I use to read a lot of Modern Drummer magazine?

More 'Dan' trivia.
'Gaucho' owners; listen to 'Time Out Of Mind'. The first chorus has the line 'It's the light in my eyes'.
Listen to that line again in the second chorus.
The track is also notable for having Mark Knopfler on lead guitar.

Grover Washington did an album by the same title. Did he record anything with S/D?

I though Ed Cassidy was Randy Californias' step dad?? and he met Randys' mum from playing with him?

Ed Cassidy was his step Dad and primarily a drummer not a guitarist. It's written that he mentored Randy and encouraged him to start a band with Ed at an early age.....the rest is history as they say.

Randy Californias' real name was Randy Wolfe. Anyone know who gave him the name California?
