caught in 10,000 euro ebay scam.

Posted by: AL4N on 17 November 2007

sadly i let my guard down on this one, i paid for a camera with a banker's draft, i know, i know what an idiot, i thoght i'd done enough to check the seller out but myself and many other's got caught out to the tune of about 10,000 euro's, i even translated his feedback into english to see what they were like but at the end of the day i'm £750 out of pocket with no hope of getting it back. His scam went on in atleast 5 countries, it must have been along time in the planning.

I am very sorry for you and your situation.

Sorry to make it worse - I hope it's a typo, but the 10,000 Euros you have typed is nearer £7,500 not £750.

the £750 is mine, the rest is made from the other buyer's who parted with money.

Someone in my town (about 10.000 people) was in the local paper at the court section for fraudulently taking money from someone on ebay for a laptop that didn't exist. I know this doesn't help you but at least not everyone gets away with it. I assume he wasn't one of the better ones.

i also heard of a chap in Wales who took himself and 3 mates on a fantastic holiday with the proceeds from fraud on ebay, he had another little holiday when he returned, i hope the same happens to marius8080.
