Does any one else have sky + that is giving problems?
while i install sky (and other)satellite systems for a living,sky + is not used by that many people,so common problems are not known to me.The problem i have is that i can never(hardly ever)get programe information on the banner across the bottom of the screen when going from one channel to another,only a small problem but a problem all the same.

I've never had this problem, but the FAQ's on the 'Sky Interactive' pages (press the button with that name) are pretty good. Any problems I have had have all been solved by switching off the box, unplugging it for a couple of minutes, pulling the card out and re-assembling it.

if only that worked for me,i've even downloaded new software but to no avail,i'll try to get another receiver to try,cheer's.

Have you spoken to Sky's customer support and had a signal test done? It could be that your dish is out of alignment, buggering up your signal.

Be prepared for a LONNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG wait on the phone though - I managed a 75 minutes wait a couple of weeks ago.

there is also the problem of my sky + remote switching my "82 to other sorces and adjusting the balance,but that's another story.

AL4N

Richard Dane previously advised me that the Sky+ remote codes interfere with the control chips in the pre - a simple dealer supply/fit update to cure the problem.

I called them on Saturday to get a second card authorised. My goodness - they win hands down for the worst IVR menu system ever.

On my first attempt I managed to get down something like 10 levels before discovering I'd taken a wrong turn. On trying to navigate my way back up it announced to me (in a smug voice) that it was glad that I'd managed to sort my problem out...

"If your Sky Card is bounding like a lazoon round your living room, Press 1.

If you previously pressed either 1 or 8 or your card doesn't glow in the dark, press 2."

Second attempt I got down 8 levels before encountering a human (who was then very helpful).

And you just know that the Masons have a secret number to press at the first level.

Sky+ is wonderful though.
