I had (and still have) the DA10 - the Weiss is similar on SPDIF but moves the game on with Firewire.

Interesting comment re Firewire.

What sort of shift are we talking? Similar to that caused by the differences gained by moving to mark grant cable? The difference between "wide" and "crystal". I know its difficult to quantify Smile

140 to 250. The firewire connection seems to have really pulled out a lot more detail. Very pleased with it.

Is the Weiss DAC compatible with the Firewire 400 port on the older Macbooks, or does it require Firewire 800 to work properly? Thanks.

It works with the FW400, no need of FW800.
