Thanks for your input.
John
"We Get Requests" is one of the Oscar Peterson albums to have.
"Trio" with Brown and Thigpen is fairly frenetic.
The Live at Montreux albums in sets of 4 and 6 (as well as the trio) are fast vibrant albums.
If you can find any of the trio stuff with piano, bass and guitar such as Brown/Ellis (you'll be lucky) or the Orsted-Pederson/Joe Pass combinations, they're pretty awesome too. The older combination of Brown/Ellis is what made Peterson famous.

Frank.

I never used to miss it and am wondering if it's available on DVD or Video?
Does it still run anywhere?
Regards
P.
however, i have fond memories of the program -- where the two would discuss jazz, and OP would describe how he had played with so and so (including some very big names in jazz)...
worth investigating further in case this is on some portable medium somewhere...

If you like Oscar Peterson, I recommend that you try to get your hands on some Art Tatum. He was "The Master". Vladimir Horowitz used to go see Tatum play on 52nd St. in NYC after his classical gigs, so he must have been pretty incredible. You might start with Solo Masterpieces Vol. 8 (or any of the Solo Masterpieces, for that matter), and if you like trios, try any of the Group Masterpieces.
