Classic vinyl

Hi,

I bought Joni Mitchell’s Blue and Stevie Wonders Innervision for £4.95 each from an Oxfam in the weekend. Is this about right for good condition “classic” albums. Are the days of £1 classics long gone?

Any thoughts/experiences on prices for classic vinyl

Charity shops have caught on to the fact they have a little goldmine of old vinyl. They give someone a Record Collectors guide and price them, taking little regard for condition or if they are the normal pressing not the special one priced.
You still can get bargains,my local YMCA does Lps for 10p. I bought 3 @ £2 each from the charity shop opposite AudioT in Brighton one was junk, 2 were OK to good, I'll start looking at every album now.

Record Collector quotes for mint condition records - it assumes they have never been played and all the original packaging is as new. There is a chart that explains how to modify the price if the record is not as new.

That's as maybe but crap records are being priced as gems in some shops, but they sell so who cares? Apart from us of course.
