Does new LP12 Plinth and topplate sound better?

I have a fully upgraded Mid eighties Linn (circus ,Lingo etc)it has the old style plinth which I belive is thinner and less rigid than the new ones and also has the sagging top plate.Anyone "upgraded" from these and is it worth the effort?Bear in mind I prefer a tighter crisper sound rather than an overly warm one.

In My experience , they all sound different anyway. It seems to be the most innconsistent deck EVER made. Is it not true tht most people have had variable results with the LP12. Afterall, it's "mechanical" it's like saying " all Mondeo's LX are the same". We are now all aware that there are lots of decks out there that perform more consistently than the much reveered LP 12. It's just a sense of belonging that perpetuate it's myth. Anyhoo, perhaps if we were all honest it's too expensive, too variable, and as safe as milk. For the money!! You choose. Oh, you did. Anybody got a 33rpm adaptor?
