A chance to diss Sting

At least he didn't yet fall in the trap so many others fell, say the Sex Pistols or The Who. There has never been a 'Police unplugged' or any other awkward cash-in tour, where debt-ridden faded glories showed their bellies !

It means he's a berk and his music is bollocks.
I hope that clears things up
Not really - do you have an American equivalent?

OK - I Got It!
He's definitely a berk, and pillock, and his music is - - - LAME!
I found this:
British Slang Dictionary
Now, armed with this valuable tool, maybe I can understand what you chaps are talking about!

Stewart Copeland is the best thing about Police.
(Did anyone else notice that the other drummers on Peter Gabriel's record sound very much like SC? What's that about? Did they use his kit or something)

"Get a life guys!
If you don't like the bloke, can't you just go listen to someone else?"
True, but I must be cursed. He is ubiquitous. Everywhere I go I hear his godawful music, that horrble whine of his, or I see his smug ugly mug. If he just did he decent thing and disappeared and went off to live on a remote camera-and-recording-studio-free island somewhere, I would be happy.
Besides, no man who has done so much to damage the aesthetic sensibilities of all sane and sentient beings (while raking in so much cash) should be allowed to get away scot-free

I think it is generally unfair to criticise an artist, as we all are allowed free expression and have differing musical tastes. The most important value of our society is that we will accept everybody’s point of view, up to a point of course. In this particular instance however, the boundaries have been exceeded and Sting must be acknowledged to be the biggest tosser on the planet and his banal outpouring must be banished, lest we accidentally are subjected to it during the unfortunately necessary rounds at Asda. More than a pillock IMHO.

These comments wouldn't have anything to do with money would they? (Only joking!)
I happen to like Stings music, but prefer the stuff he did with The Police. Like any artist he's done some naff songs, but you can't argue he's also done some good stuff as well.
P.s. before I get dissed to hell and back I fully appreciate the opinions of other members above...

Easy Targets...
Ok if I hear him sing 'It's a big enough umbrella...' on one more bloody non-police song I'm likely to want to kill him, but he isn't that bad. He may be a pretentious prat, but so are many 'pop' musicians.
He's just fashionable to knock, he's produced some great music, both with Police and solo.
I'll get my coat...

I'll bet all the dissers of Sting really like Robbie Williams....!
Now if ever there was someone who is so far up his own backside then its Robbie.... Especially bearing in mind how sooo important he is...not!

Lets face it ....all tabloid pop sucks. Same as tabloid TV. This is like discussing Brookside on a movie forum.
Fun isn't it
