Chelsea have been woeful for about 10 - 12 weeks now. At the start of the season we seemed to have re-found our spark, scoring for fun and playing terrific football. It's turned into a bit of a trial watching them and against the other big clubs we've been very poor.
At least in the previous few seasons, if we weren't scoring we weren't letting any in either. That's changed.
Like I've mentioned a couple of times, the drop in our form and the rise of Hammers' co-incides with the move of Steve Clark and while I'm sure Zola brings much to the party himself and Scolari's clearly not happy with the day to day stuff of club football, letting Steve go (eventually) was a big mistake. Should have just doubled his pay and kept him on. Ray Wilkins is a good bloke but I'm not sure he's inspiring. Bring back Steve. And Zola. And Carlton Cole (Ranieri's 'Lion')!

And I wanted Guus Hiddink, but I would still take Scolari over McLaren even now.

Mourinho's move on out wasn't the fans choice, even a few results not going our way didn't make people feel he'd lost his way. In the Champions League game before he went we may have had a poor result but I think we hit the woodwork two or three times with the keeper beaten and the keeper himself made some excellent stops, it's not like they weren't trying.
It was more of a personality thing between him and Roman and Roman got bad advice.
IMO, I suspect it's Peter Kenyon who is responsible for many of the bad choices. He might know his business stuff but he should leave the football to others.

The bookies seem to favour Rijkaard. He has the flare but is he too fiery to deal with Abramovic and Co.?

What about Paul Ince or Sven Goran Ericsson?
I could give it go - I used to manage a girls under 14s team about 25 years ago and so I have the necessary background.
I base my tactics on those advocated by John Beck - my first buy would be Rory Delap. The only players in the existing squad I would keep are Joe Cole, John Terry and Frank Lampard - all the rest would be on the list. I'd also have a word with the groundsman about the pitch being too wide and not enough grass. I'd also ban prawn sandwiches.
