SuperNait

Hi,

I am just wondering how many of you ( if any at all) are using a SuperNait for their AV. I just want a simple system but with great stereo and I believe the supernait will fit the bill. I will need to connect a CD, DVD, Cable tv,( and eventually a deck)
Any experiences or comments ?

Thanks

Hey Barrie,
I am using my SN with my PS3 for bluray and it sounds fantastic in 2 channels. The only pain is that you have to select the correct audio track every time you play a BD.
I have not connected my cable tv because I don't watch that much, but I'm sure it would work just fine. Make sure to use the optical connection from the cable box, so it doesn't introduce noise into the Supernait.

The Supernait can't understand Dolby Digital or DTS via digital inputs... only PCM stereo.....

So connecting a cable box may be best done by analogue... UNLESS you can, via the cable box menus, set the cable box to only output PCM stereo.

good point Mike, I've looked in the menu and also on the Scientific Atlanta website and cannot find any way to set the box to output pcm 2 channel. The analogue output is not terrible but is well behind the sound from DVD.

For folks not in the US, Scientific Atlanta is the manufacturer of the majority of HD cable tuners here.

Thanks for the comments, I am just wondering how have you hooked up the Sony PS3 - what cables have you used and to where

Cheers

Barrie,
I have the PS3 hooked up with an optical cable into the SN via the aux 1 input. You must have the PS3 set to output pcm over the optical out.

Hi Nat,
Could you hook the PS3 up via the AV connect ?

Barrie,
Haven't logged on in a few days, sorry. You can map the digital inputs on the SN. I have just been using the factory presets. I'm not sure exactly how to do it, but it is in the SN manual.
