Ever been to Santa Pod?

I sure its running a tad rich.
I've always wanted to go to see the bikes, dont they 0-100 in 5 seconds or something?

The fastest bike I remember seeing ran the 1/4 in the 6 second bracket and was doing 197mph!!
The riders need locking up after the meeting though, they must be a cap short of an NAP!

I like the corrugated steel safety barriers.
They have more sharp corners than a Chinese industrial machine guard.

Fried or sliced?

It's quite a relaxed motorsport, free of the usual crap and one upmanship. The toilets were plastic builders huts that blew around in the wind! However, I'd rather spend a day there than at Brands 'we hate spectators' Hatch. Used to be such a great place....

the crowd seem a bit dim though. Do these people not realise beforehand that drag cars are extremely loud?

I've been before, a fair portion of the crowd had tattooed knuckles and shell suits but it was great fun. The top fuel cars are mindblowing (and eardrum blasting).
0 - 100 in 5 seconds? The car shown above will probably be capable of hitting 100mph in less than a second. The top bikes won't be far behind.

Fastest top fueller did about 5.5 seconds and 265mph.
The jet car was pretty scary though, much faster off the line than I thought it would be.

This guy had no troulble keeping it up!
