How about a Sound Organisation 5-tier rack at £135. It is probably a box-frame fully-welded stand. I use them and they are fantastic.

See http://www.soundorg.co.uk/prices.asp?D1=Equipment+stand

Hi Andrew,

Ah ..... now its interesting that you should mention a sound org rack at £135. I have the chance to purchase one of these from Radfords hifi Bristol for that exact price! It is the Z560 support available in either slate black or satin silver. Is this the animal that you use? If so whats it like?

Cheers matt. smile

My understanding is that the new Sound Org racks (e.g., the Z560) are bolt together, not welded like the old classic ones. Thus, they have less rigidity. For this reason, I chose another rack.

I have heard both the classic SO welded racks & the new bolt-together-with-thin-glass-on-rubber-pads Z-thingies.

Your stuff will sound *much* better just laid out on the carpet.

Sorry!

The fully-welded box-frame stands are still available, but ONLY from the Sound Organisation dealer shop (of the same name in York).

DO NOT go for the Z560 as it is the inferior bolt together type. The one I am refering to is the SO 5 Tier support (not the Z560) on the website I posted earlier.

Well I could post a photo of my table and non-Naim (ahem!) system on here, but I won't wink

What I am using is the 2-tier stand (I bought a about 6 months ago) for the LP12. I'm using only the top shelf and removed the bottom shelf as the LP12 sounds better that way.

OK, I'll compromise and post a photo of my LP12, just to show that these type of racks still exist (well, that's my excuse). Oh, they work fantastically well too!

Here is my LP12 on the SO table. The lower shelf is on the floor underneath with the Lingo on top. Taking the lower shelf off made a massive difference.

Have a look at the "unusual" two-tone walnut plinth. Strange but looks interesting.

The rack to the left is an old bolt together rack (not made anymore).
