Ted Sirota

Dear Anna, or someone else at NAIM,
Can you tell me what has happended to Ted Sirota - responsible for three wonderful CDs released by NAIM? I occasionally check your website CD catalogue to see if a fourth has turned up, which it hasn't, and now I notice that the 3 CDs of his you have released have been removed?
If he has changed record labels do you have any further details.
On the subject of your releases the Fred Simon Dreamhouse CD is very good, IMHO, any chance of a second release?
Thanks in advance,
Leopold

Hi Leopold
Sales of the Ted Sirota albums were quite disappointing, especially the most recent one. However, he is planning a European tour, so we may repress to coincide with that.
I'll let you know via the forum (as always) of any new releases!

Hi, Leopold. Thanks for your kind words, I'm so glad you're digging the music.
Hey, Ted, welcome to the hang. Tubby Haze ... all in my brain.

The Sirota Cds are on the site now so are they available from Naim?
No British dates on that tour schedule. The Spitz in Spittlefields market might be the ideal sort of place for Ted's band.
Out of interest who is the target audience for Naim discs like this? Do you rely on Naim owners, dealer networks or is there a distributor involved as well? There is a fair audience (in jazz terms)for bands in this vein .. certainly Ken Vandermark, Jeb Bishop etc gigs have been well attended (and I'm sure the Chicago rock crossover thing has its followers). How does Naim market releases like this? I can imagine its pretty difficult.

Ted's right, it wasn't to do with sales; we fell out. However, oil is poured, kinks are ironed, Ted's music is back, and should be in the main part of the online catalogue this week.
Now everyone stop asking awkward questions!
The Spitz was a good shout as a possible venue for the Rebel Souls, anyone got any more ideas? Some live dates in the UK would be great.

What about the Robin Hood in Dudley? - oneof the best venues for live bands in the West Midlands. A big beerhall where you stand and watch or dance to bands and artists such as Chris Farlow, Roger Chapman, Mike Sancchez, the Blockheads, Eric Bibb, Dr Feelgood, Steve Gibbons Band, Alvin Youngblood Heart etc. The same company runs the slightly smarter Robin 2 at nearby Bilston.
