V+ box and n-Vi / AV2 volume ?

Posted by: james n on 27 July 2008

Just wondered if anyone had their V+ remote control controlling the volume on the n-Vi or AV2. Virgin give various control codes for various TVs and Receivers but nothing for Naim - tried the 0279 code but nothing.

Any ideas ?

Cheers

Nope...
Got V+, n-Vi & 112x.... the V+ remote won't control either naim 2ch 0r n-Vi/AV2 volume.
Spent hours going through different codes... no joy!

However, I do have all my kit operated by one remote.....

Had to be programmed by my dealer, and wasn't cheap.... but factored in with some X10 wiring control it'll even adjust the lighting when I hit Play DVD

I find it more useful in my system as I have 5 sources.... one or two buttons is the most it takes to power up/down the kit I don't want to listen to and put the n-Vi and 112x on the correct inputs.

If your n-Vi only deals with itself and the v+ as sources then your best bet is to carry on as you are....

I tried a logitech Harmony but it doesn't get on too well with an n-Vi... as the n-Vi behaves like an AV2 & DVD5 together it's a single box that acts like 2 devices, which is where the Harmony gets out of step.

Thanks Mike - was just curious when i saw this feature on the set up menu. That'll save me entering any more codes anwyway.

I've got the Harmony unit. Works fine with my n-Vi although the i leave my n-Vi on all the time which makes things easier. Nice remote you've got there Cool

It was the long powerup/down cycles on the n-Vi that gave me probs using a Harmony....

I like to drop the n-Vi into standby when listening through the 112x.... definately benefits the sound.

Glad you've got your setup with the 250 singing. Must sound great.
