Ross
You'll notice I did'nt even include it in the Poll as I don't consider it to have anything to do with audio anymore.

Hey!!
I kinda like HI-Fi+. I'll admit it: I read it for the pictures. Whatever else you think of the mag, the marketing guys know what people like. And that's lots of slic shots of the insides and outsides of all the neatest looking gear available. And, although they STILL need a good editor, the reviews are OK (as good as anything else out there, in any event). Like the card stock too.

Actually, I think + is the best out there since the demise of Listener; it's head an shoulders above the other three in the poll (and What HiFi?). If there's a better one currently out there, please let me know.
Cheers
Keith.

Hifi+ is the best followed by Stereophile almost soley for Micheal Fremer and his analogue corner

What's wrong with Hi-Fi World? It's the only one I read because you get more obscure equipment (which is fun to read about even if you never buy it), opinion columns, retro kit and letters.
Not enough magazines have readers letters, comment and opinion.
And, best of all, they don't usually take up a three page article with enormous pictures and no text.

What HIFI - is by far the worst (shameless 5 Star crap)...
The suckers who buy it, just count which item has the 5 Stars, and the suppliers pay for each star...

This is really pathetic.
What criteria are you using to define good and bad?
Presumably it's whether the editor and reviewer share your own impeccable taste.
cheers

I purchased a copy of Hifi+ (purely for the NAP 250/NAP 300), interesting/informative read, but the rest of the magazine was crap, but that's just because it had nothing else to do with Naim

Lets face it, Hi Fi mags are just another form or porn.

Chris Bell has it right.
I couldn't have said it any better.

I kind of like Hi fI world, it has, for me, a kind of analogue air about it. That said, I often find it annoying that they dont tell you what equipment is used when auditioning stuff. This month, for example, NK tried out some bookshelf speakers, with each test I sense that the music was differant, and to this day I still do know what other equipment was used.
I remember with fondness "Practical Hi-Fi" and HI-Fi Answers" from the 70's and 80's. They knew how to review.
