Blimey its flat in Indiana

Just back from a trip north of Indianaplois and this is typical of the landscape and roads around there...

They're not called the great plains without reason! Winker Now, imagine tall grasses for almost a thousand miles in each direction. That's what it would have looked like in the early 1800's.

yeah one spring break I drove alone from Ft Collins CO to Detroit where my parents were. Filling up at gas station starting out the electric bank sign flashed a degree less each time it came on. Old timer next to me said "yep, it's gonna be a bad one".

12 Hrs later I slept in De Moines Iowa. In the AM my car started but found that wind chill factor was -50 and I was driving 70. I had full ski wear on inside the car, heater full blast and had to keep it alternating between the floor and dash. Not one hill until I hit Michigan.

Afterwards one friend said you should have put cardboard in front of the radiator to keep heat in the coils. What a 20 year old doesn't know....
