Most nauseating song ever
Posted by: Jeremy Marchant on 10 September 2008
I've just had to rush to the radio to switch it off (Naim being remiss in omitting a remote control on the 32.5; I've tried using a long stick, but the switch on the front is surprisingly stiff when activated from a distance of eight feet). In a show about the large hadron collider, up came Louis Armstrong singing "What a wonderful world". Why does the BBC do this? Surely that song qualifies as one of the most stomach turning of all time.

Sardines - if only!
If you live by the seaside their bombing runs can be spectacular. Now back to thread.
I also vote for Mike Oldfield and Tubular Bells. Boring or what. Take one concept and make 2 albums confirms you can never under-estimate people.

Aaaaghhh - sacrilege - how can you criticise the great Michael Oldfield - he's a hero: part of The Whole World - a stunning guitarist ......

Ah two compliments about the Gallagher brothers in the same post - I think you have summed up nicely why I like them.
PC tried to put them in room 101, which I think you'll agree was a bit out of order

Nobody is perfect
Mike's guitar on Whatevershebringswesing is enough to make me forget that he set the bearded dude on his way to give us Virgin Cross-Country - the staff are very nice though in the way they announce delays in such a cheery way - I suppose the odd late train is not a Crises on its way to Portsmouth.

so you like them because there assholes that make good music, would you still like them if they wasn't assholes?quote:Originally posted by ROTF:quote:Originally posted by 151:

They're arseholes who made a good first album, a not bad second album, and went steadily downhill after that. They're parodies of the old fashioned hotel room trashing rock star although and think they're something significant while they're really just pathetic and laughable in my opinion.

Why is "Brown eyed Girl" hated so much? What have I missed ?

I can't disagree with anything you say - definitely, well maybe - oh what's the story .... I've forgotten what this thread was about now.
Why are people slagging off Oasis when they could slag off PC? Has the world gone mad? Have I? Some might say it's a real Digsy's dinner.

The 2 most frequently hated tracks played on radio 2 for me have to be 'Nothings going to stop us now' by Starship (Grace, What the hell happened?!!!?? You used to be sooo cool!) and 'Electric Dreams' by wonky hair Oakey and some Italian bloke who I think actually had a Fashion range at C&A named after him. The Bile rises everytime I hear the opening notes of either tune...

Fine choices Zipper, but perhaps "We Built This City On Rock & Roll" is an even more nauseating Starship "tune"
Posted on: 17 September 2008 by von zipper
Argghhhh...and I'd all but erased any memory of that drivel until you bought it up!

I prefer the version sung at a few football grounds up here:
"We built this city on sausage rolls".

I like that song - please let's keep on topic and knocking that bald drummer bloke.

I like sausage rolls, so please don't associate them with a crap musician.
Back on topic I'm surprised this sonic nightmare hasn't been mentioned yet ...
