Just saw your email - sorry i've been out of the office...

Give the Soundbases a go - they really transform the SBLs (mine are at Phase 5) big grin

Whats you main rack - Laim/Flutter/Mana/Perspire...

I use Fraims for equipment but a Mana wall shelf for LP12.

I did have ATC's on phase 4 and equipment on phase 7 but due to suspended floor I found that slight movement due to weight etc kept putting Mana out of tune. In tune it was stunning, out of tune crap. It was a very revealing sistem but too analytical and found myself not enjoying the music as much as I did before. I therefore decided to get the Fraim (after a dem of course) and for me it gave me back the music without losing too much of the impact that the Mana gives. I also went back to SBL's as my listening room is quite small. I still have the ATC's but prefer the sistem I have now.

The sound bases are to put me back where I was a few years back and help me cure the suspended floor problem (big void underneath as well!) and I know that even SBL's can rock when they're atop Mana. I know I'll probably end up getting phase 4 under the speakers and this was part of the reason for holding back coz with Mana you keep thinking how much better it would sound by adding just one more.....(like 'one for the road' then wondering how you got home!)

Fraim Main Rack and Mana Soundbases - sounds good, I think Erik went this way (ditched the Mana rack for Fraim, but kept the Soundbases)...

As long as the main rack is up to it (and the Fraim is), then the Soundbases shouldn't highlight front-end support issues. Quite a few people have initially added Soundbases and not liked the results (blaming the Soundbases)...

I think your Fraim/Mana comment sums it for me - the Fraim was (very) good, but it lost something. To some that something is everything and to others it isn't - but its a matter of preference.

I'd better watch out Simon's naim shares may lose value - due to negative naim comments !!!

The main thrust of the post above seems to be that more MUSIC was found in the move to fraim from mana (how ever you want to re spin it). Any plans to replace Alister Campbell?
