World Cup 2006 - A Non-Football Fans Thread/Safe Haven.

So, what are you going to do whilst the girlie men play with their balls this summer?

Switch off the TV/Radio? Unplug the interweb? Enjoy the empty roads whenever the English squad are on the pitch? Anything special planned?

Smile

Sorry to upset you Erik, but there are the European Championships in two years time.

And the football season starts again in August.

You'd better get an account with Dulux!

Thanks Mark, you are a real brick. I'm not sure I can afford much more paint so I am going to buy a goldfish.

All the best

I must be the only person left who still doesn't know (or care) how England did on Saturday. I expect there was a lot of them throwing themselves on the floor and crying as soon as someone got within 10 feet of them. Whoever they have as medics should come and work for the NHS, because they seem to be able to turn a stretcher case into a sprinting goal scorer within a couple of minutes. Bloody amazing really.

I reckon they wear boots to protect the nail varnish on their toes

Is the reason that they use their feet rather than their hands to pass the ball (which is more accurate and more logical if thought about for a nano-second done to prevent them hurting their wrists, which must be preserved and kept supple for more important activity, later?

Fredrik,

You would have to really hate football to not enjoy what has been an exceptionally entertaining and good natured tournament so far, and Brazil have not even played yet! The only exception has been the England game, which was the least entertaining too date. I cannot wait to get over there and join the party.

With the exception of some goal keepers, most people can kick a ball further than they can throw it. The wages most of these guys are on, I suspect they do not need to use their own wrists too often (Gratuitous sexual remark smiley).

Regards

Nic

They may have alternatives but they just can't help it - its genetic. I note that many of them cant perform unless in groups in hotel rooms, is this becasue they need help or they prefer some male involvement? Maybe they paint each others toe nails? Winker

By all accounts the england team were an embarrassment which is what I expected. Worse to come methinks. Winker

Anyway Nic, you are not allowed in here. Razz

The lady in question is one Katie Price, better known to the world as 'Jordan' (pronounced Jawwwww.....daaaan). The upholstery was certainly done in Harley Street and consists of bags of silicon. I see her around alot as he likes to pop into my local club (Borders Starbucks)for a coffee and do market research for her next work of great literature. Yes, Fredrik, her autobiography is available at all good books shops. So is his. I can't imagine why anyone would want to read either though.

Because they've probably got a lot of pictures

To be honest, out of all the tabloid celebs, these two are probably the best of the bunch, and David Beckham is okay too.

The best of the bunch? We are talking about turds in a bucket of shit aren't we, in which case best is ver very conditional.

Beckham is a brain dead idiot, along with all footballs.

Why are the roads still busy? I thought all the braindeads should have been fighting amongst themselves in the local hostelry by now.

Only 3 more weeks of madness!

I've seen them close up and they look great but alas I have had no intimate contact, in the flesh, so to speak, so I can't comment further but I would say she has a nice bum too. Winker

A collegue was at a trade show with a stand this week and they packed up and left London yesterday around 5.00pm. London rush hour traffic. They drove back to Brighton from central London in an hour and a half, in a van. Roads deserted.
This footie stuff might just have something going for it. Smile
However, I did see about 15 police visiting a pub in yellow vests at around 6.30pm, and the pub did sound as though it was populated with monkeys.

So the england team struggled to beat Trinidad & Tobago (or so I note from the newspaper headlines). There has been no reaction to the game in T&T as most of the population is out of the country playing in the er world cup.

Just back from a holiday at the coast, and I have to confess I did something there that I realize will have me banned from this thread.

The appartment had television and the television had cable and I have actually seen several worldcup matches, including England vs Trinidad/Tobago.

I saw Beckham playing for the first time and was surprised-after all the jokes-he's actually quite a good player.

The above did not adversely affect my duties towards my kids as official sandpit delver and trench digger.
