hello all did anyone ever find a solution to the drop out issue with SN/airport express/itunes/server/laptop setup. i got a new server with is way way better but i still get that tiny split second pause although its not always in the first few seconds anymore. i have all the latest firmware, drivers and sofwares.?

do it do the same into any other dac/s?

Hi r-tree,
I would try to connect airport express to another mains spur, I used to have sound dropouts with a PC connected via Coax. (spdif) to a Lavry. These were caused by other electrical machines at home! No more once I changed to an AES/EBU connection (it outputs an stronger signal). Optical connection shouldn't be affected too.
In case the problem was in the wireless network, you could also try different channels in the wifi setup, maybe you are experiencing interferences from other apparel or networks, we live in jungle of waves!

Regards,

hi, the system is on its own spur and the AE is on the ground floor spur to the house. the leccy has been very well installed and all four floors of my house were re-done when it was renivated with breakers and quality MK products through out. i dont have any other network and the microwave and moblie home phones are more than 15m away form the AE. there was a thread going about 7 weeks ago where many people were having this issue so i dont think its interference but i may be wrong

@r-tee
I have exactly the problem and it seems to have to do with recent modifications by an i-tunes update. SOme other users of the system ( in another forum) informed about precisely the same issue. Let us hope that a new update provided by Apple will sort this out (fingers crossed). Nevertheless I have decided to finally solve that matter by ordering an Akurate DS...

Mine has been very stable. There remains a single, 1 second droput about 5 seconds after resuming from pause - but otherwise, no problems. I'm running iTunes 8.0.2.

I'm using WZC on XP with no drop outs.

8.0.2

I've always updated to the latest version of iTunes. Been running AE and ATV for couple of years now. No drop outs.

Only issue was when the microwave was on. Bought a new microwave and all OK.

Don't know if this is of any use but I'm running a Dell D820 / iTunes library on a USB 2.5" external drive / XP Pro / Netgear DG834PN / iPhone + Remote App.

when i updated the firmware on my netgear dg834n it became capable of running WDS networks, but i dont know what are the benifits it can bring...

avole, the split second pause only happens once every album - but its still annoying.
