SCRITTI POLITTI
Following the release of their New Album 'White bread black beer' Scritti Politti announce their first UK tour in 24 years.

On sale Friday 16th June at 9am
BRIGHTON Concord 2 - Thu 6 July
OXFORD Zodiac - Sat 8 July
PORTSMOUTH Wedgewood Rooms - Mon 10 July
LONDON Scala - Tue 11 July
NORWICH U.E.A - Mon 17 July

The album has had bloomin good reviews too though i have to admit i havent heard it. Used to love some of Green's early singles particularly 'The Sweetest Girl'.

Anyway 24 years between tours, I guess its not a record but its canny respite between gigs. Hope he is rested. Can anyone think of a longer gap between tours?

I loved scritti politti. The first band that used drum machines yet still had a groove (rather than just robotic timing)imho. I think I'll have to go & give "songs to remember" another spin right now.
matt.

I've got all of Scritti's albums so will be interesting to see what the new one sounds like?

Good to see that they have got good coverage of the North of England built in! Any other dates?

To answer my own question. In addition to the ones listed by Diccus:

Monday August 7th – Edinburgh Liquid Rooms
Thursday August 10th – Tokyo, Club Quattro
Saturday August 12th – Tokyo, Summersonic Festival
Sunday August 13th – Osaka, Summersonic Festival
Monday August 14th – Osaka, Club Quattro

Osaka it is then!

Staggers me that they are doing nothing in the Midlands or North England. Maybe they are using the South as a "warm-up" for a later tour Smile.
