Beta Band Best of...Recommended

Just incase any of you have not heard of this group they are well worth a listen.
I am a big fan of this band and its a shame they are no more, I personally have Dom Joly from Trigger Happy TV to thank for putting Dr Baker on the show to some of his sketches and have never looked back.
I dont know how to describe them? kind of like Gomez, lead singers voice is very distinctive, catchy lyrics with a mixture of up beat and chilled out songs.

I was foolish enough to buy their first album, which they subsequently disowned. I gave it a few tries, but its quirkiness just irritated me, and off it went to the charity shop.

BTW I don't see any similarity with Gomez.

'Quirky' is the word I would use to describe these guys... I heard a track in a club in Leeds about a year ago; asked around to find out who it was, and discovered The Beta Band... The track was 'Dry The Rain'... Sublime! Though I had to buy their back catalogue to trace the tune I wanted.
Sift through the sometimes below par riffs, and find some sonic gems.
Though, even after my upgrade from Cyrus to Naim, I still find the clarity of the recording a little poor...

I guess I should of phrased the similarity to Gomez better, I meant as a band that stand out because of their quirkiness and not because of their musical similarities.
