Sat Navs

Chaps

Mrs Mick wants a sat nav that is dead easy to use, warns her where speed cameras are situated and possibly covers Europe.

No fancy stuff just simple directions etc.

Any recommendations.

7 figure postcodes in the Garmin. The satnav I had in my Golf was pitiful too, like the Vauxhall one you describe. 2D and truncated postcodes, and a VERY bossy female voice. How come one can buy a highly functional unit fora say a£150 but the car manufacturers charge anything from a grand upwards for a very inferior piece of kit?

Chaps

I drove to the airport car park using the Tomtom and it was superb.

However in Spain it was a bit less useful as according to the Tomtom, I spent a fair amount of time driving in fields. The Spanish do not update their road building activities as quickly as we do.

Overall these satnavs are absolute bargins for what they do.

and wipe the sucker mark from your windscreen, 'cos they know you only put it in the glove box.
