Posted by: Eek on 23 January 2004

I bought a s/h nait 3 a while ago and just hooked it up to my Linn LP-12,no sound out of left channel, right is fine!
i know it not table because i hooked up to another system and it worked fine,do phono boards go bad? i took off cover and noticed the left board fitted on the post were very loose the right seemed like a tighter fit could that be a problem, any idea's ?
Thanks In Advance

I had a similar problem with my 42 - one of the phono board sockets was resting outside the pin on the motherboard, touching it, not actually on it. Pulling it out and replacing the board properly solved the problem.

Try wiggling the board and listening whilst playing a record - does the channel come & go? If not, then that would indicate the board has died. Watch out for the electricity mains whilst doing this though!
