Naim That Toon

Heard on 'Arrow Classic Rock' today - and sounds like a fairly new release.

Male voice (with a band) singing a gentle hook line of "Your Body is a Wonderland"

Any ideas please?

John Mayer - Your Body Is A Wonderland

We got the afternoon
You got this room for two
One thing I've left to do
Discover me
Discovering you

One mile to every inch of
Your skin like porcelain
One pair of candy lips and
Your bubblegum tongue

And if you want love
We'll make it
Swimming a deep sea
Of blankets
Take all your big plans
And break 'em
This is bound to be a while

Your body Is a wonderland
Your body is a wonder
(I'll use my hands)
Your body Is a wonderland

Something 'bout the way your hair
falls in your face
I love the shape you take when crawling
towards the pillowcase
You tell me where to go and
Though I might leave to find it
I'll never let your head hit the bed
Without my hand behind it

You want love?
We'll make it
Swimming a deep sea
Of blankets
Take all your big plans
And break 'em
This is bound to be a while
Your body Is a wonderland
Your body is a wonder
(I'll use my hands)
Your body Is a wonderland

Damn baby
You frustrate me
I know you're mine all mine all mine
But you look so good it hurts sometimes

Your body Is a wonderland
Your body is a wonder
(I'll use my hands)
Your body is a wonderland
Your body Is a wonderland

John mayer also did another album, with the track "daughters" on it,which you may have heard before. I am away from home at present, & can't remember the title of the cd.
For someone who looks fairly young, he does have a mature voice, & is a pretty nifty guitarist, imho. Worth a listen

Many thanks Steve and Matt. This forum is a wonderland.

The name rings bells. A friend has played me some of 'Inside Wants Out'.

I've ordered 'Room for Squares' from Tower USA.

You won't be disappointed John, I have a copy in the car that will make the play-list for sure.

Might try the live album, I prefer live albums where possible.

Regards,

Steve

Yes he is a great artist Smile

Try and get heavier things as I personally think that is the better album, I am trying to source a cheap copy of TRY which is his live album as recommended by some other JM fans on this forum.

SteveS1, I also prefer live albums in most cases, though a lot of people get quite sniffy about it. Obviously albums of gigs I have attended are a special treat but in general I like the extra energy and immediacy of the live ones, even though many are tarted up in post production.

Hi Chris,

Yes I like the energy often found in live discs. Given the amount of "tarting up" that goes on with studio recording I'm at a loss to understand complaints about the same for Live albums.

I have no problem with a solo from one night being used with another night's backing etc. To be honest, unless you were there it's unlikely you'd know.

Obviously if stuff is re-recorded in the studio that would be different. Although I've never heard more than accusations.

Regards,

Steve.

It happens all the time. Not entire songs, but many live albums have things fixed and/or replaced in the studio.

Speaking for myself, I'm interested in the best possible musical statement, no matter the method. If fixing/replacing something in the studio at a later time results in better music, I'm all for it.
