i can recommend a dgg disk by
boulez and the Ensemble InterContemporain,
which also includes a fantastic ebony concerto.

highly recommended.

The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra are quite good here, as is Stravinsky leading the work himself.

the orpheus i've never heard, but everything i have by them is sterling, so it is probably very fine.

but the boulez really rings my bell. and as a bonus, the performance of the ebony concerto is positively stunning. the synchopated rhythms in the ebony are usually not played with good style, but on the boulez it is dead on the money. and the bass clarinet-baritone saxophone
work on the ebony is worth the price of the disk. these french fellows actually understand playing behind the beat (as in jazz and r&b), which puts a lot of juice into the synchopation.

yeah some of that 20th C music with jazz influence is probably best done with musicians with a jazz credential. Boulez does conduct great music.

Waltz music from Vienna has something called Schvung, or swing, that many others don't pick up.

I loved the Dumbarton Oaks first time I heard it. Only one i have is Stravinsky's own recording.
