Credo question

The Credo has a black metal plate, on the bottom and at the rear of the speaker. What exactly is it's purpose? Does it need to be adjusted, has anyone done so?

I think it's part of a suspension mechanism. I've never adjusted it on my Credos.

Hi Jay:

From experience, not Naim advice:

Yes, the plate is a leaf spring suspension implementation. The 3 (?) screws that hold it can come loose and I have 'fixed' mine with some Elmers wood glue (easily reversible).

The spikes which pass through it at each end go into recessed cutouts in the enclosure. It is important that the recessed section of the spikes do not touch the edges of the cutout.

The fuction of this suspesion is important to the performance of the speaker. Bypassing the suspension is a bad thing. I've tried it.

Best Regards,
