No but they are on Tres Hombres.

My favourite is Rancho Texicano, it gets played the most, a bit of a cheat as it's a double best of type of CD.
I prefer the earlier albums, pre the 'synth" albums Eliminator and Afterburner.

I hated ZZ Top. Fact. No discussion. End of.
Then one evening long ago (when I still had hair) I was browsing for the latest Philip K Dick in Forbidden Planet bookshop and was struck by this amazing piece of music they were playing. Every track a stonker, I browsed for all of side one before I summoned up the courage to ask the Sci-Fi Nerd behind the counter what this fantastic stuff was.
Of course, ZZ Top. The album Deguello - the cusp between them being a blues band and a pop band. I liked a couple of the poppy albums that followed but that one stands head and
shoulders above the rest to this day.
Beautifully produced with sublime guitar tone too.

I always liked their music but didn't have much of their stuff and I'd kind of forgotten them.
Then I watched their live performance on the first Eric Clapton Guitar Festival DVD and they were absolutely terrific!
Another vote for Rancho Texicano (played to me by Joe Bibb - thanks there Joe!) and if you've a BluRay player, treat yourself to a copy of "ZZ Top Live From Texas", recorded a couple of years ago.
The boys are kicking on a bit but they're still superb rockers, and there's an absolutely stonking version of Jimi's 'Foxy Lady" on the bonus features.

Got to be "La Grange" in the HDCD version on an appropriate payer. One of my favourite system test trax.
Saw them at Wembley in October last year. Great gig, although I hate that venue with a passion.

Tres Hombres is the quintessential ZZ album ...chock full of choice tracks ....La Grange / Jesus Just Left Chicago + Tush being just 3 ...Billy Gibbons ability to pick out glorious harmonics is just one reason why he's such a great guitarist.

To add to the fave reviews, about 4 years ago the Sunday magazine section of the LA Times had an interview with Gibbons talking about his house. Didn't show the exterior but the interior was done in contemporary African design, very cool, he said he'd enjoyed many trips to Africa. The dinning room was round with hand plastered walls with wood branches in a cone for ceiling and very minimal african art. Living room equally as stunning with spare art, mostly massive polychromed statues. Wish I had saved that copy.

They're playing the Palace in Monaco in July (do what?) along with Iggy Pop and the Stooges. It's €65 though, do you think I should go?
I've never really actually heard the music of either tell the truth...

Favourite album is definitely 'Tres Hombres' and my favourite track is 'Blue Jean Blues', closely followed by 'Just Got Back from Baby's' and 'Fool for your Stockings'.
Billy Gibbon's guitar playing is just sublime.

Absobloodylutely!

You've convinced me. The chance to see Iggy Pop doesn't come around very often.
The concert is in the 'place' in front of the palace on the top of the hill. This is not the largest public space in the world, and I think there are around 3500 spaces (hope I haven't missed out already) Monday 5th July.
Stu, loads of Easyjet flights to Nice, partly cos Stelios lives in Monaco, go for it.
Some info (in French) here.

It's fine Stu. I'm going to take it in for a check up soon as it's a couple of years old now.
I can't be doing with forking out for a new one just yet!
