What Sound and Vision? ...... Oh and hifi

What on earth has happened to 'What hifi?' magazine?

I used to quite enjoy its mix of cheapo and decent mid-range stuff.

I havent read it for a couple of years but have bought the last couple of editions. Now it appears that nothing gets less than 4 stars despite a shite review. Also the readers questions seem to be 20 people asking what TV they should buy to watch the latest inane hollywood fodder on mixed with about 2 hifi questions.

They also seem to review the same Arcam boxes in every edition whilst completely ignoring great components in the same price range. What market are they hoping to reach with the new 'slant'?

Strange stuff if you ask me. I've got a maximum 5 minutes of reading out of each copy.

To find good hi-fi, go to a decent dealer(s), open ears, choose accordingly. That's it.

No magazine can properly describe a sound with words, and no magazine can know your own preferences as well as you do.
