London on the Saturday for me. Yes it's expensive but I don't care, never seen him before and he's top of my list of people I most want to see.

And he'll probably play for twice as long as most bands anyway Smile

Steve.

I was at the Edinburgh gig

a wonderful experience

the acoustic set was suberb

I loved the way he seemed to be undecided about the set and played songs in a seemingly random way ,much how I play cds.

the electric set was loud and great
didnt want it to end

the art work seemed weird at first then as it found a context ie an intro to each song it got better

even quite liked the missus

expensive but will we see his like on these shores again

...Myself Diccus Ewemon + Keith (another NY devotee) were also there on Monday night....

First things first ...What an uncomfortable venue! mebbe's we are all just getting old but combine those Edinburgh Playhouse cramped seats + the stifling heat towards the end of the show....and being sat way up in the balcony didn't help our a***s or certainly my mood. (I'm not blaming Senor' Dickensian for our seats cos managing to get hold of 4 tickets together was a real coup!)I've read reports of touts wanting £300 a pop outside the venue! (?)

I hate to say it but I think I might have even preferred a stadium gig (with leg room!)
I reckon NY can get away with the larger gigs in a way mebbe's some artists can't.

As for the show ....Yep he's still got it and is apparently as batty as ever (thank god)

The acoustic set was class (I think the rest of our gang preferred it slightly to the electric set) but the LOUD part of the show was right up my alley!

As for the seemingly random nature of his song choices ....I thought that at the time but having seen all the set lists from the other 2008 European shows he's been playing mostly the same tunes (albeit with the odd curve ball thrown in some nights)

I won't include the set list here in case others are attending the other UK gigs and wish to be suprised but you won't be disappointed ....old Neil & "old black" are in very good form.

Sorry I didn't post anything earlier I am just recovering from altitude sickness. Just as well none of us suffered from vertigo. Hope Keith has recovered from his crampons. Like Jet I was waiting for the St Bernard to come round with the Brandy but that never happened.

A great night out though and thanks to diccus again for getting the tickets. Smile Smile Smile
