What's with the pulling of posts?

Posted by: onlythat on 13 February 2004

This post refers to the recently pulled Ears Nova dealership thread---

I'm all for no vulgarity etc...but if we want to have an intelligent/humorous discussion about a Hi Fi dealer, shouldn't we be allowed to?

I mean we're all adults here... we have some opinions and we'd like to have them aired is all. I personally had a hard time with this Naim dealer. So have others. Some feel differently. No harm done to Naim as a company-- long may she wave.

I just dont feel like this forum is too liberal sometimes at all.

I hope this post isnt pulled as well.

I think that thread actually encouraged people
to visit the shop. Its like a car wreck... its horrible but you have to stop and look.
Seriously, If I just listened to him some 20 odd years ago when I went in to buy a CD player and walked out with a Rega 3 and more recently a Nait 5, instead of riding the round-earth merry-go-round, there would be alot more money in my wifes bank account.

Cheers

Emil-- the man (Josh) does give some good advice and certainly opened my eyes to a thing or too (one of my first exposures to Naim) but I was just trying to ask why all the fascism?

I mean this is OUR forum-- we the people of Naim-- and whatever floats our boat should be allowed here-- even, yes.. anti-Naim things. I'm not anti-Naim by a long shot, but if someone here be so-- I say, so be it.

Just like if someone here has a bad thing or two to say about a dealer-- so be it.

We people need to know these things, for and against, in order to make informed choices regarding the ways in which we choose to support our favorite brand. No?

I can see if its a private forum regulating what is said-- but this is a public one, and we are the reason Naim can exist at all. so I say lets vote (or whatever it is we do here-- petition??? whatever.) to stop this post-pulling nonsense.

Aye? Aye!!

You've got it wrong - this isn't OUR forum but Naim's forum. They therefore make and interpret the rules and tend to pull threads which they feel are overly controversial. If you want to question the decision, try emailing Richard Dane for an explanation. I'm sure he'll oblige.

Naim understandably have ambivalent feelings about this forum, and wonder whether it causes more problems than it solves?

It certainly causes dealers some grief.

We should do all we can to encourage them to keep it running, and respect their censorship.

The moderators are pretty tolerant, generally.

Only that, its not your forum.
We will not allow threads which make accusations against third parties especially our dealers. These posts only show one side of the story.
We have NO wish to waste time with lawyers.
