Having seen Jon Honeyball's Singapore thread last week, I thought it might be of value to have a general thread like this, showing where we members get to throughout the world. So please join in Smile

Some pictures from the Springbrook National Park QLD Australia:

I think i had aimed it from interior out to the harbor, maybe reflections in the window and my finger over part of the lens? no idea how the burnt orange and those streaks got in there but it just flabbergasted me when I saw it.

It would be a great album cover. Thus Spake Zarathustra? or a Steve Reich.

Nice Peter - I've driven down a lot of that beach. Did you see any Dingoes? Hope you made it inland through the jungle to the lovely lakes with their crystal clear water.

I did Do. Just the one.... Rather scruffy looking and in need of a good meal!

We ended up doing over 400km that day and yes some of the freshwater lakes were spectacular..... Only one puncture too!

We are Big Grin

As Jon Honeyball has been known to say.......... I've had a little shopping accident (now I have access to money again (thank you Mastercard Cool)

Um, spent about £450.00 on some wonderful vinyl in a really out of the way shop on the 17th floor of some tower block - No signs..... Other than for a Massage Parlour somewhere else in the block. - Many thanks to William of Hi-Fi Choice records (I think) and many thanks to Joe for taking me there.

BTW here's the daylight shot of the post above - The view from my hotel window...............:

Here are a few from my trip to Hong Kong and Beijing (we went to see the Olympics as a family member was competing). Sorry for the low quality, they were highly compressed to save uploading times!

View from the hotel - Metropark, Causeway Bay.

Nice one, I have heard there is some great vinyl out there, after all music is what it is all about.

So, as the thread is travel and we've had a bit of urban glitz, how about being high up in the Indian Himalaya......In a truck ?!

Some time back, I spent the best part of 4 months living and traveling with truck drivers all across India for a photo story I was working on - which although originally self-initiated became a commission for TATA.

I can quite literally say I have been on virtually every main road/route in India and a fair many B roads too (!) but without doubt one of the highlights of the many journeys/routes I made was being high up in the north.....The pics here are a few from the Kargil Pass where I was travelling in a truck stocked with livestock...There was also the added excitement in the fact the pass had technically been closed the week before ahead of the winter snowfall as well as the Indian Army being particularly trigger happy with their Pakistan counterparts due to tensions at the time in the area....It was a great few days, but not a journey I would recommend to anyone who dislikes sheer drops and/or overloaded trucks travelling through the darkness of night with one headlamp...! Eek

The complete story/edit, OK TATA!, runs to a couple hundred images+, but here's a few of a travel nature that I thought might suit the thread:

Thanks chaps, v kind... Smile

The bulk of the photos are probably of little interest here on a HiFi forum(!), but to finish here's a couple of portraits from the 'daily life' core of the story:

Driver bathing, road to Kollam | Driver sleeping, road to Leh

And of course, the inevitable crash pic (shot on Xpan Winky !)...

Great shots Steve, you have a very good eye. Maybe a tad too much use of contrast (think carefully), maybe over use of person looking directly into the lens, third shot down is completely the wrong angle, but great stuff.

This is a compliment.

Not to the standard of SCs great shots, however, I found this a bit of an eye opener: How one waits for a ferry in Xiamen China.

There are about 300-400 people contained behind these doors, waiting to be released once the ferry docks! It was quite a site when the doors opened!

Space saving!

If you run out of space on land then just build over the beach! Well, that's one way around the problem.
