Having seen Jon Honeyball's Singapore thread last week, I thought it might be of value to have a general thread like this, showing where we members get to throughout the world. So please join in Smile

That's the tower that is in the reflection in my photo above! But perhaps not too surprising. Likely one of the most photographed plazas in the world. A great town, eh? Hotter than a bastard when we were there, though.

Given the rather poor weather we've had here in the UK during August and into September, I sure can see the attractions of somewhere warmer – Tuscany:

Is this lovely Metro entrance also the one for Pere Lachaise cemetery? (I'm thinking either of the station Pere Lachaise line3, 1/2km away, or Philippe Auguste line2, next to the cemetery - I can't remember which I mean)

Anyway, if it is the one next to Pere Lachaise, it's very appropriate since, as well as Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf, Chopin etc, etc, numbered among the inhabitants is Fulgence Bienvenue - civil engineer remembered as the 'Father of the Paris Metro'.

..I fear not, but thank you for the interesting history. It is CITE on the same island as this:

and a short walk from the Marie.

I love the way Paris has no fear as far as architecture is concerned. Pompidou for example is not far away either

Howard: good tag for the lamps Winker

Not my best picture, but I like the view and it really shows how strong the sun was up in the mountains. - Looking back from the mountains in the direction of Malaga.

Peter I only see a band of blue over a gray block , for some reason.

One of my favourite travel pics:-

For me it gives a little of the "wow" factor. I'll confess to not noticing(consciously) the group at the base, which gives the pic it's scale.

If it's a group it must be Pink Floyd.
