Buying a Laptop.

Posted by: chilipepper on 19 August 2008

Hi,

I'm looking at buying a laptop.
I currently have a decent desktop, however, i would like a Laptop to travel with. Specifically for: WWW access, emailing, downloading photos, music, Web Cam, Wifi, and Skype use would be high.
Light and portable as well.
Budget: around the $1000 kiwi dollar mark.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers - Smile

Here goes - at least half the advice will be to buy a Mac laptop...(regardless of budget)

This question is probably better asked in the NZ PressF1 forum...

Asus. Runs Linux. Has wifi and pretty much everyting you want for travelling. It's really small and cheap

If I'd buy a laptop my choice would definitely be a Lenovo Thinkpad.

btw I use an apple iMac as a desktop computer but I think the apple laptops are just not good VFM.

Good luck making your decision.

Why not - you get lots of software plus with bootcamp and Amiga Forever you can get it to boot up as a Commodore Amiga Big Grin

I much prefer my Apple laptop to the Windoze one I have to use for work.

I do think £100+ for Applecare is a bit steep though.
