Naim pronunciation

Wikipedia's "Naim Audio" entry tells that the pronunciation of Naim is "Ny EEM". I always thought that it is "Neym", like "Name".
Can some british folk please tell me who's right!

Compare owl and bowl, very confusing.

For me, the correct pronunciation of many English words is a matter of luck.

A friend of mine was standing outside Tewkesbury Abbey one day when two American ladies came up and asked if this really was Tweegsburg God Box?

I'd be lost if I ever got out to the countryside over there. But I seriously think it's a hold over from the canterbury tales era of middle English. I had a roommate in college in Fort Collins Colorado who was talking about this and wanted me to take a class in it. One look at the first 2 pages and I said no way.

I had friends who were figuring out where to go on their honeymoon for both of then had traveled a lot. They ended up in Scotland, Sandy kept laughing and saying we didn't understand a thing they said. But we'd say we were just married and they'd buy us a whiskey, it was great fun nodding and acting like we understood them.

One friend who has scots background said any reason to have a drink will do, nothing special in that, but don't tell Sandy that.
