The Kinks- yeah baby

Does anyone know of a good quality 'best of kinks' lp that i could get on vinyl.

I have one already but the recording quality is terrible. Are the CD recordings a better way to go?

Harry, can't comment on vinyl, but co-incidentally I heard the Kinks' "The Singles Collection" on CD round at a friends on Saturday night. Even though he hasn't got a fancy system it was apparent how well this collection had been put together and re-mastered. It sounded great.

It's got all the usual suspects on it and is well annotated.

Kinks albums tended to be a bit variable, but I can also recommend "Something Else By The Kinks". There isn't a duff track on it, and again the remastering and packaging are first rate.

I picked this up on cd and it is *excellent*. Very live feel, excellent tunes and great "dated" yet somehow current feel.

On vinyl I have, and enjoy greatly, "Low Budget" and Schoolboys in Disgrace. Both are excellent. The Kinks are the most over-looked rock band in the world and have never (imho) coasted on their laurels or become pompous and self important.

Rhino put out a nice Kinks best-of on vinyl in the 80's. You can still find it used.
