A Hi-cap to CD3.5 or CDI ?

Hello everyone,

I need your advice on one thing.
What would be the better solution between adding a Hicap to CD3.5 and purchasing a second-hand CDI at an interesting price?

My present system is as follows :
CD3.5/Nac72/Hicap/Nap250/Spendor SP100.

Thanks.
YOON

Is a great player, thing is they are getting on a bit and one day it will have to die, whereas getting a hi cap will improve your newer 3.5, plus it can be used to power pre amps etc as you move up the ladder, (if that is you intention)

I personally run a 3.5 and hi-cap NAC 102 plus napsc and Hi Cap and NAP 180. My thoughts are similar to the others already expressed...the 3.5 is a good player and adding a hopefully second hand hicap and the black snaic ands a new dimension to the sound. Older cd players can have issues with the laser which reveal themselves as problems playing scratched discs and laser replacement/re-alignment is yet another cost. The 3.5 plus hi-cap may well keep the upgrade bug away till the CDX or/and the NAC 82 beckons.
If you thought a hicap on the 72 makes a difference one on the 3.5 and one on the 72 is awesome.
