Here are some to consider, but do you know any more?

The Trumpton Fire Brigade always ended every show on the bandstand, that's before it was damaged by the Chigley skins in the riots of 1986.

Guys
You have picked up on most of the names I was going to suggest when I saw the thread title. Accepting I shouldn't repeat names, here are a few more:
Not much of a hat, but he put together a few decent tunes!
Don't hear much of them these days, but in their day...
Now, how could I not include some reference to Robert Plant except, when did you ever see him wearing a hat? This was all I could find, but with Stevie Ray Vaughan's hat, this'll do nicely (if it works)!!

If I were to go away
Would you follow me to ends of the earth
To show me what your love is worth
Or would you go and buy a car
Shrug your shoulders, say there you are
She didn’t love me anyway
If she had she would have stayed
If I were to go away
Would I always look for your beautiful face
In every crowd, every place
Or would I turn and buy a hat
Turn my shoulders, say that is that
He didn’t love me, now its clear
If he had, he would be here

My friend's father managed the Wombles during the mid-70's and I can remember one afternoon playing in his back garden and turning around to see the four Wombles, without head pieces on, drinking and smoking in his lounge.

I should imagine quite a few people saw something like that in the mid-seventies!

But not for real! I think the copy of their album that my friend's father gave me is still in the loft at my mother's house.

P.S. The flashbacks don't happen quite so often now.

Conductor Donald Runnicles (though he doesn't tend to wear that while performing).
