Improving the source ?

I currently have a NAIT3, MARANTZ CD67SE, and TDL RTL2 speakers. Advertised ( privately ) locally at a very reasonable price is an ARCAM 170 CD/AUDIO ALCHEMY D/A Converter.

Are they worth the hassle of a listen, I have found little about
them on the Net. How old ? quality ?

The Marantz is a fine enough little player; the Arcam setup may be fractionally better, may be fractionally worse, but it probably isn't worth changing for. Better to hang onto your money or buy new tunes...
