The Clientele

Yoiks! There's a new, young band that I actually like!
I just got the Clientele's new album on CD, Strange Geometry; atmospheric, tremoloed guitars meld occasionally with the pukka string arrangements (courtesy of the incomparable Louis Phillipe), creating a lonesome, urban rumination somewhere between the Blue Nile and the Smiths (or something). Rainy, deserted streets at night, that sort of thing. Interesting details include a cover painting by Paul Delvaux, fabbo surrealist painter of yore.
BTW, for you vinyl afficionados the LP version sounds even better.
