Hello everyone.
As someone with little knowledge of Naim products i'm in need of some advice.

I am looking to upgrade my system and want to get the biggest improvement i can for my money.

My system at present is
CD5 / Myryad T40 / Ruark epliloge R.

I have enough money to upgrade the amp to a Nait 5, but wondered if i would get better performance from buying second hand.

Having read through posts on this forum for a while i notice everyone favours the source first approach. With this in mind, for the same budget would i be better off buying, say a second hand Hi-cap for the CD5 and a Nait 3?

Any suggestions?

So where would be the best place to buy a nait 2?
Also what is the going rate on said item?

I would go for NAC62/HiCAp and 140 which you should be able to pick up for the price if a new nait5.

But you will not get a remote with this, you can then experiment with the HiCap on the CD5 or 62 to see which gives the best result.

Of course a new nait 5 will match your CD5 and give you a remote if they are priorities. You will do well to find a second hand nait5.

I'd have to agree with that.

I am after a new amp after all.

thank you for providing me with something of a 'bigger picture'.

I think really the first thing i need to do now is go and get a dem of the CD5 and nait 5 together.
If this doesn't represent a big enough step up from my present kit i shall begin to look at alternatives, including second hand kit.
