Moving a CD3. Where does that piece of "essential" plastic go.

Hello

I'm moving house this weekend and have finally found that CD tray-ish shaped piece of plastic that comes with the CD3 but can't work out how to fit it. As it states that it is essential to fit this thing before transit to avoid damage I'd be v. grateful for any help (or scans of one in place if at all possible!)

Does the hole in the plastic go over the lens or do you cover the lens with the double thickness part?

Is this really necessary if the transit screws are in place anyway? Hope what I've said makes sense.

Cheers

Jonathan

The plastic is U shaped, presumably?

Squeeze the two legs of the U towards each other, and you should then find they will slip into two slots at the front of the CD tray.

"The plastic is U shaped, presumably?"

No its kind of upper case D-shaped with the hole in the middle teardrop shaped. The rounded end is double the thickness of the flat end. (My goodness, you don't often get technical jargon like this on this forum)
