Document capture, form processing, and scanners

I am looking into uppgrading my department's form processing setup. We currently use Autodata Scannable Office and a Canon DR-3020. This works fine with radio buttons and barcodes, but is weak with handprint boxes. Also, the software is an underdeveloped pile of crap, riddled with undocumented features and untold bugs. I am looking to try something else, and Cardiff's Teleform looks fit for the job, most likely going for the client/server edition. Has anyone had any experience with it, or know of any alternatives. Scanner-wise, I get through about 100,000 pages of questionnaire data a year, but that will likely rise to around 300,000 over the next year. I am considering the Fujitsu fi-4750L. Can anyone recommend anything else similar, but preferably with a higher capacity document feeder? £10k is prolly the limit on the scanner, as we need to buy a burly printer at the same time.
