Speaker terminals on a NAP 160

Bought myself a recapped and perfect nap 160 (thanks, Duncan !).But the distance of the speaker terminals are different (further apart) from the 140. So I removed the plastic housing from the speaker plugs in order to get the spacing right.
Is this ok or should I fit other plugs ?

I did the same thing so that my NACA5 would fit my speaker terminations and have had no problems at all.
